hi there..

I recently stumbled upon the site and really interested in trying out jojo..

I am doing a remote install on to a linux server. The server is a shared server but I do have access to above the public_html directory and created a directory there.. copy the install files there.

Then created a site directory as per the instruction in the linux installation query in the forum then copy the file from the jojo _www and placed in the root of the public_html directory and finally got the installation page .. but i cant see to tell it to use the very root to access the jojocms files..

can some one help or advise me how to install completely in the public_html directory against all the security risks..

I dont think i have access to the .php file to be able to mod stuff off the server..

can some one advise..

yours frustrated
a . idiot.

Hi Nick,

If you place Jojo in public_html, you will be doing the same as most other PHP packages, so it's not the end of the world.

Simply place your Jojo folder in public_html and start the install again.

It sounds like the issue you are having is more related to giving the incorrect folder path as part of the install process.

Here's a trick I use to find the correct path, if you are unsure...

Create a file called test.php in public_html. Add some content like this...
<?php
dkigjbdsfkvbn
?>

Then call this file in a web browser. It will give a big nasty PHP error which tells you the full path to your public_html folder (eg /home/virtual/username/websitename/public_html). Use this path as part of the install process.
