Hello,
I'm trying to setup Jojo 1.0a4 on my MediaTemple account. Here's the directories I tried setting up:
Jojo dir: /home/username/domains/jojo
MySQL 4.1.11 PHP 5 (both sites are using the same db)
Amarimono Site #1:
Webdir: /home/username/domains/amarimono.com/html
Sitedir: /home/username/domains/amarimono.com
Amarimono Site #2:
Webdir: /home/username/domains/amarimono.org/html
Sitedir: /home/username/domains/amarimono.org
When I start the installation on site #1, everything works fine, but when I install site #2, after the install is finished it starts redirecting me to site #1, and all of site #1's information is switched out with the info I put in for site #2... so basically, I can't make two sites...
Did I do something wrong here?
Thanks,
Takumi

Hi,

I suspect the problem relates to the 2 sites sharing a single database - because Jojo doesn't prefix the database tables, the 2 installs are going to clash.

Only way I can suggest to fix this is to add another database.

Harvey.

I see... Is there a way to make it so that it uses prefixes? I don't think it can be a truly multi-site cms software if it can't use the same database for multiple sites.

Thanks,
Takumi

p.s. I didn't mean to be rude, I can use multiple databases so I guess the issue is moot, but I'm sure there are some people/organizations that would prefer/require them all to use one database, and having Jojo have that option from the beginning might also help spread it's use

It's something we have been wanting to put in place, but there hasn't really been any requests for it as yet so we haven't made this a priority.
(no offence taken by the way)
We want to be able to add this feature without having to break backwards compatibility and rewrite every query in existance. The database queries are already abstracted which makes the job easier, but it's still complicated - and a quick search aroud the net suggests other open-source CMSs are having similar problems with this issue.
