Is anyone else having issues with PayPal transactions occasionally not being completed even when successful? This only started occurring since about the same time as the recent PayPal plugin change but I'm having issues pinpointing what is actually going wrong.

The actual IPN works and is triggered (I assume since orders get updated with PayPal's IP addess instead of hte customer's one)... but the status gets left as Pending.

I'm playing with some extra logging right now to test a few theories but I'm open to any other ideas.

I found another bug but it must be limited to me somehow, otherwise one of you guys would've mentioned or fixed it.

The Paypal verification response is returning each row with a return carriage and/or new line at the end of each line, so the code checks "VERIFIED" against "VERIFIED\n". Which fails, then "INVALID" fails too and the loop closes with no action taken, all while sending Paypal a "200 OK". Paypal thinks the transaction is complete but it's never finished on the website.

Has anyone else had successful Paypal transactions not show up in the transaction log? If it's just me then I'll figure out why, otherwise I'll commit my patch.

Is it intermittent? I'm pretty sure my stores are OK, but then again, the PayPal ones are pretty low volume. I've had some issues with SwipeHQ lately but I think that's at their end.

Intermittent as far as I can tell, only on one store that does about half a dozen sales a day through Paypal. I might push the change anyway and it can be rolled back if people disagree. It was making a real mess of transactions since lots weren't showing as paid and the cart success hook want firing which was messing up my quantities tracking.

I haven't noticed any problems other than the very odd occasion when the order email doesn't arrive.

However I just had a client say the last 3 orders they received the email hasn't come through. I wonder if something has changed recently, either in Paypal or Jojo.

Could you let me know when you have this change committed, I will deploy and let you know if this fixes it or not.

Hi,
Our main paypal site is an events site and isn't running any events at the moment but once we got the switch over for the IPN sorted it was working normally. (nov last year)

Harvey, when the order email didn't arrive, was the order visible in the Transaction Report?

I've pushed the fix... I've tested it but since it's a payment processor I'd advise that you guys test it as well.

yeah in my case it usually shows in jojo as complete, so probably not the same issue as what you are finding.
