So I have a site where installing the newsletter plugin is doing something that it doesn't normally do.

The Edit newsletter page admin/edit/newsletter is just showing nothing. Literally blank, nada, nothing.

Firebug is showing a 200 on the page, but it doesn't have anything in it. The page is set up exactly the same as every other table edit page and every other edit table page is working perfectly.

I have followed process through the jojo framework and tried to work out where it is breaking but even putting print_r("here"); on the first line of the index.php file isn't making anything display.

Debug is on and nothing.

Has anyone got any thoughts?

Thanks

Also, I forgot to mention. If you aren't logged in and try to go directly to that page, then you get the usual login screen, so something is working.

Update.

It appears to be a problem with the manytomany or manytomanyordered, depending on what you use, field on the articles table. The only difference with this site to any of the others that I have used, is that this site is using categories on the articles.

If anyone has any thoughts on this would love to hear. In the mean time I am going to do a little more testing.

manytomanyordered does have some problems, although normally i only hit issues with it when trying to (for example) group users by company, and then it usually only screws up the usergroups > users tab rather than the whole page.
I'm testing a site using newsletters (with article categories) at the moment, and it seems OK

- is this the branch trunk copy you're using? I'll compare what i've got with that version and see what the diff is.

Incidentally, also trying another site that allows the use of events (from the Jojo_events plugin) as well as articles (in categories) in newsletters. It seems OK too.

And trying out putting the intro and outro text into html (using the editor) so you can put links in (without it screwing foreign characters).

If i can solve your issue at the same time, I'll include it in a commit of the whole thing.

I think I started with the 1.0rc2 branch copy but also tried the trunk with same prob.

I am using a slightly customised articles in this one, but nothing I can see in my customising that would effect the many2many fields. I tried using both many2many and many2manyordered with the same problem. The simple work around I have used and it was actually good too as I will need the different cats to display separately in the newsletter, is I have created 2 views in the database, one on the article table where ar_category = 1 and the other 2. This allowed me to straightway get two many2many fields working, one for each view.

Incidentally, this particular site I'm working on, has 3 more none standard many2many fields populating data from other plugins, which seem to be working fine.

This is about my 3rd or 4th site, where I am bring in other data into the newsletter. Each time I am customising the jojo_newsletter_phplist.php file for the site or starting with a straight copy of the whole plugin and making changes. Are you doing the same? Wondering whether it would be worth me putting in a Jojo::applyFilter style thing into the plugin like the way sitemap and search etc work?
