Since WebDrive is a recommended webhost for JoJoCMS.

I managed to figure most part out, but is there any recommended or WebDrive specific installation guide? I had a few wee hiccups related to CHMOD at the very start of installation (using root folder method)

And a few permission related error. I hacked and CHMOD them through WebDrive's folder permission (on control panel) but am not too sure if was done correctly to function or not... I feel that my JoJoCMS installation is kinda wonky.

One thing you do need to do with Webdrive is disable their gzipping, because Jojo handles this internally.

You also need to make sure that your website can "see" the jojo folder - on the 'websites' - make sure you open up the basedir dropdown (under advanced settings) enough for this to work.

Also, try grabbing the latest nightly build - we have been too slack to release it as beta2, but it's been running good.

Try these and if still having problems perhaps email us your skype / msn details and we can work it out over IM.

Hi guys, jojo on webdrive is real slow for me. I have attached an extreme example, 5-10secs is typical. Caching is on, gzip disabled, otherwise default 1.0rc1 install. My other cms's and inefficient scripts are always subsecond on wd so something's up here. Got any pointers?

Hi Froady,

I have noticed this as well, and it's something I have been looking into, but aren't making much progress on.

I don't have the full array of test tools available to me on Wedbrive's shared host, so this is making it difficult. One hypothesis is that Webdrive has a higher-than-usual round trip time on database queries, and this particularly affects Jojo because we use a lot of them.

Other shared hosts that have MySQL on the same box as Apache seem to run fine, which is why I mention the above.

I don't have an answer for you at this stage sorry - I'd like to have found the issue before we do the next Jojo release, but like I say, it's eluding me at present.

Harvey.

I experience the same slow performance when testing on my laptop (6 months old, reasonably powerful) using WAMP... Jojo runs slower than other CMSs.

I've been through the Apache and PHP config files and don't see anything too out of the ordinary, though server setup/config isn't my speciality. I can attach the files later if it'll help.

It used to run slow on my live server too also but now averages under two seconds... not great, but better. No updates to the server configs at all.

That was me, I guess my session timed out before I posted the reply.

Is Jojo supposed to fail over to adding the post as Guest if the session times out?
